AMPS Will No Longer Run on Windows 7 in 2020

Effective January 14, 2020, Microsoft will end support for Windows 7. Auto/Mate will also stop supporting instances of AMPS running on Windows 7 after this date. This means that if you continue to run AMPS past this date, you will be at a greater risk for viruses and other malicious software.

Once support ends, your PC will become more vulnerable to security risks. Windows should still operate but you will stop receiving security and feature updates. AMPS may not function on Windows 7 after January 14, 2020.
If you currently have a Microsoft 365 Business license, users can upgrade all of their old Windows Pro licensed devices at no additional cost. For other options, visit Microsoft’s Windows 7 End of Support page. There is a possibility that you will not be able to upgrade to Windows 10 and will have to replace your current PCs with ones that run on Windows 10 if you don’t meet the following requirements from Microsoft*: *Auto/Mate does not sell PCs, nor do we recommend a particular brand or model over another.
As soon as possible. We recommend upgrading outside of your business hours so that there are no interruptions to your day-to-day operations.
If you upgrade your existing Windows 7 installation to Windows 10 using the Upgrade Companion, AMPS will continue to run and no reinstallation will be required. If you decide to install a fresh copy of Windows 10 on your existing PC or you decide to purchase a new PC, AMPS will need to be reinstalled. AMPS can be downloaded here.
AMPS is able to detect which version of Windows you’re using. Once you upgrade, you will no longer see a Windows 7 warning message.
